Abstract:
The Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules are designed for projects with activities that must be performed in a specific sequence. However, in some projects, the sequence within blocks of work can be flexible, while in others, the blocks can be completed in any order. This flexibility is common in linear or repetitive projects, like pipeline construction. Using CPM schedules for these types of projects can lead to inaccurate projections if the sequence of work changes. Therefore, a linear schedule is more effective for such projects as it helps identify delays and disruptions more accurately by highlighting areas of varying progress. This presentation will provide expert insight on properly demonstrating delays and damages utilizing linear schedules.
