Estimating Challenges on Remote Site Projects

When:  Nov 20, 2024 from 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM (PT)
Associated with  Cascade Section

Join AACE Cascade Section on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 12 to 1 pm (PST) for a “lessons learned” online presentation by Robert Wells on the challenges a remote site project can bring to cost estimation. Robert will cover projects at the North Slope of Alaska and on the island of Molokai, Hawaii. Both projects used engineering approaches, decisions, and paradigms typical of a continental US city that were sometimes difficult to counteract or redirect toward the constraints presented by a remote site project.

Robert Wells is a Sr. Cost Estimator with Jacobs (formerly CH2M Hill) in Portland, Oregon. He holds a B. A. in Business Management and has been on the AACE Certification Board CEP Committee for the past 8 years, involved in monthly CEP exam grading and CEP exam question development. Robert has been with Jacobs (CH2M Hill) for 17 years, and for a variety of Electrical and Specialty Architectural Contractors in Oregon, New Mexico, and New York for 20 years prior to Jacobs.  He specializes in electrical, communications and systems cost estimates.

This webinar is eligible for 0.25 CEUs.
