Meeting AACE peers in the recent APEGA Members Recognition Dinner

I was rubbing shoulders last night with some of the best in APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Albera) at Fairmont Palliser Hotel here in Calgary. It was an event to recognize and honor member’s active contributions through volunteerism, mentorship, and fellowship. The event was also held to acknowledge and award life memberships to our more senior, and well-experienced colleagues in the profession.

It was a pleasant surprise to learn that many of them were also AACE members with designations. The common denominator never failed to cheer us.

APEGA like AACE represents what I’ve always espoused, i.e. “for all to believe that success is borne out of establishing a venue where all management professionals can safely connect, discuss plans, risk-based management principles, philosophies, including new and/or old methods and approaches, and being able to mentor, share knowledge, agree and assimilate the best. APEGA members are team players, who value diversity and the partaking of experiences.
