Do you know that PM Solution Pro has since endorsed Business Products that could've helped prevent and/or mitigate Threats of Transmissible Diseases?

I'm republishing this old article I've written in June last year (2019). It was several months before Canada and the world got their first taste of the dreaded COVID-19. Unfortunately, it seemed that only few people listened and understood. Many were actually laughing at my idea of including health and sanitizing products in our product lines. There were several risk benchmarks in the past that such move should not have been too hard to accept. Still it didn't make sense to a lot of people. Now, the growing impact of nCoV made them understand where I was coming from. For factual, reliable up to date information about this new corona virus COVID-19, please click the link below to go to the following government information websites. "Whether you are a businessman, an engineer, an investor, a tourist, a consultant, a client, a contractor, parent, or whoever you are, you’ve some things in common. One of the most important of them is, you travel!

Why am I talking about this? What’s the relevance?"

As the founder of PM Solution Pro, many have asked me why our website’s product pageincludes travel items that do not ring a bell. Meaning, our listed commodities selected from Amazon will not appeal to the travelling business and management professionals. They pointed out that PM Solution Pro is a consultancy and service firm and should concentrate only on things directly related to management.

For example, why would the company promote and sell the powder free vinyl gloves, travelling wet wipes, neck/lumbar support pillows and even disposable toilet seat covers. It’s laughable, they say with a big grin on their faces.

So here’s why...

Travel is one of the most stressful and dangerous tasks a business professional, contractors and anyone has to go through to earn a living and remain profitable. The better one manages the risks associated by travel, the more productive he/she becomes.

As a management consultant, I travel a lot. Not just a lot, but lots lot! In one consulting engagement, I travelled weekly by air and on land, stopping in various unfamiliar places, and learning how to better prepare against the rigours of being always on the go. Finally, I found the solution on the things that bothers me. It’s time to share my insights. In this way, PM Solution Pro is truly a part of the solution!

Scene 1: You felt the need to go to the toilet. The toilet seat was dirty. You cringed as you unwillingly imagined the bacteria, viruses and germs waiting to touch and stick on your bottom! Ewww! Gross! Hey, wait! You’ve just remembered the disposable toilet cover your wife bought you, the one she gave you as present on your birthday. You were laughing hysterically when you got them boxes of disposables, with each toilet seat cover rolled like spring roll. A-ha! You thought as you unfurled the cover and lay it down easy on the toilet seat. You have to admit, it was a life saver. Who’s laughing now? From that time on, you are not afraid to go anywhere because you’re ready, you are healthy, and you are safe. You are now a believer!

Scene2: The luggage conveyor at the terminal offered a mesmerizing sight to you. You looked at each bag dropping down the chute. Some with goo sticking on it, and some with dark smudges. These bags went through handlers, rubbed with other bags whose origin no one can really tell. Some travellers grabbed theirs with their barehands, ignoring the threats of germs contamination. Some even went straight to the restaurants nearby, not even washing their hands. Well, not you my friend. You’ve listened to PM Solution Pro and got yourself your supply of disposable gloves and anti-bacterial wet wipes. You’ve handled your stuffs with gloves on both hands. You smiled within, “Ha-ha, aren’t you clever!.”

Scene3: The airport security screener asked passengers to remove their shoes, place them on the tray and through the conveyor. Foot wears are very dirty things having walked everywhere. The next person places her purse, laptops and carry on bags on the same surface. It’s the easiest way to transmit a dreadful disease! What do you think you should do?

Scene4: On a public train, two cool dudes eating biscuits have their filthy shoes on the vacant seats in front of them. Absolutely no manners! They got off downtown Calgary. Next batch of passengers came in, brush the crumbs off the seat, grab their cell phones and sat on the seats where the previous occupants have their footwear on. As soon as they’ve touched their bottom and used their phones, the probability is high that germs and viruses will get transmitted. So, what’s next to the unhygienic and the unaware?

Risk-based Management involves taking good care of yourself and those close to you. By not getting sick, you do yourself and everyone a great favour. You, in turn, maintain productivity. No sick leave for two full years. Wow! What an accomplishment! In fact, you are actually doing the right thing elevating your performance to new heights. No need to be a macho man, ignoring the importance of cleanliness.

“Studies — some done in hospital bathrooms — have found dangerous strains on toilet seats, including antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus (one of several “flesh-eating bacteria”), norovirus (the “cruise ship bug”), E. coli, shigella and streptococcus. In theory, even Ebola could be picked up from a toilet. These microbes are excreted in feces or vomit; if that’s visible on the seat, most sensible people would choose another stall. What’s more worrisome is that modern tankless toilets can flush violently with gurgling that creates a spray of barely visible droplets that can fly several feet (MacNeil, D.2015.Ask Well-Catching a disease from a toilet seat).”

Time has not really changed the behaviours of people. Diseases are still contracted and transferred due to ignorance and hard-headedness. We have heard mysterious death in the news many times. Could they’ve been avoided if warnings were heeded? You, tell me...

2) Infections you can spread by not washing your hands

3) Infection Control and Prevention - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
