Simulation-Based Risk Allocation in Collaborative-Based Projects

When:  Nov 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (ET)
Associated with  Decision & Risk Management

Have you been part of any collaborative project or an Alliance where you wondered how to determine the “party best suited to manage a risk” ? Too often, risks are assigned based on contract clauses or expert judgment, without fully considering who is truly equipped to manage them. but in collaborative-based projects having a tool to support risk allocation decisions can enhance risk management, reduce disputes and ultimately improve resource utilization!

In this session, we will be presenting a simulation-based risk allocation tool that offers a dynamic approach to incorporating both technical and behavioral factors of each involved party in allocating risks. This research-backed model supports evidence-based risk allocation in collaborative-based projects and helps in assigning risks to the right stakeholders who are best suited to manage risks, fostering trust between parties and leading to improved risk solving outcomes.

Through this session, you will get more insights into a better informed approach for risk allocation that will help enhance the effectiveness of risk management on your projects. This model was also presented in paper RISK-4615 at the AACE international Conference & Expo 2025
