About the Topic:

In Collaboration with the AACE Women in Project Controls Committee, the AACE Toronto section is inviting you to attend and participate in a discussion with our panelists, in recognition of International women’s day and Women's History Month in March, and reflecting on embracing gender equity in the work space, with specific focus on the engineering & construction industry.

About the Panelists

  • Camelia Bucur: Camelia is the Global Director, Risk Management, at Hatch, leading the company's Risk Management Practice. She has more than 20 years of experience advising clients and project teams on matters related to risk management. Management at Hatch. Camelia is a board member of the AACE Toronto Section and is currently leading the Toronto Women in Project Controls Committee.
  • Owen McElhinney: Owen is a specialist in construction claims and dispute resolution. During his wide-ranging management career in the construction industry, he has helped resolve claims and disputes related to cost, time and quality on industrial and commercial, energy, mining, municipal and other projects. Owen is the Chair of the AACE Governance Committee and an AACE Toronto Section board member.
  • Tracy Leung: Tracy is the Director of Project Controls on the Pickering 58 Refurbishment Feasibility Assessment Project at Ontario Power Generation. She is a professional engineer in Ontario, graduated from the University of Toronto in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry. She has over 20 years of experience in various roles in engineering, project management and project controls. Tracy is currently the Chair of the Women in Project Controls Committee at AACE International.
  • Marifran Mihura: Marifran is a Senior Manager, Governance & Controls at Metrolinx. She is a Professional Engineer with a Masters Degree in Business Administration and has 22 years of experience in various project controls roles for major Capital Projects in Venezuela and Canada. Marifran is currently serving as the President of the AACE Toronto Section.

About the Moderator:

  • Shankavi Sivakumaran: Shankavi is a Risk Manager at Hatch. She works with clients and project teams in the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors to understand their investment and project objectives and to develop and implement effective risk management strategies that are sustainable throughout the project lifecycle. Shankavi is a member of the AACE Toronto Section
