    Work Group 6 WBS in Project and Programme Management
    Work Group 7 Earned Value Management in Project and Programme Management

    I attended the ISO Sessions for work Groups 6 and 7 in Paris France as AACE Representative with co- coordinator Alexander Rodriguez  providing liaison support and coordinating to Technical Board.

    Key to understand is that the Standard is broken up and will be issued as multiple standards. The Standard will be primarily issued as all ISO in UK English and French.

    EVMS completed the final line by line review. Key we focused on scope, context, grammar and there are set language or words removed or changed in support of international translation.

    Key Items

    • The ISO Release is still scheduled mid-2018, confirmation will be 1Q2018 of final release. There is a drive to issue earlier.
    • The EVM Standard went through a final page by page review. Intent will be issued for another review and approval by committee. EVM Intent/Implementation Guide next document.
    • There are Annex's to the standard, Annex's will cross reference to Other Association materials and differences.
    • 12 of us were present with collection of comments from extended  review documents were incorporated, Representatives of EVM Standards present -  UK, Australia, GAO, CPM (USG), PMI, Japan, EU, AACE (ICEC), and ANSI. All of us commented and incorporated general comments. Comments came from more then 100 countries and consolidated.
    • Document in UK English
    • Vocabulary – was confirmed set based on the other ISO Work group – Vocabulary, and no additions will be added until final completed issued with balance in 2018.
      • Terminology PV/EV/AC were used instead of both, with Vocabulary addressing it showing PV (BCWS) / AC (ACWP) / EV (BCWP)
      • Hierarchical is replaced by Decomposition
    • WG7 EVM will adjust Terminology of WBS to WG6 Meeting
    • Next Review on WG7 Review is WebEx mid Feb 2018 to finalize the editing
    • All Terminology reference of following words were changed based on International Definition, as they will not translate into languages such as Russian or Arabic thus are not in any of the Standards, Annex, or Guides:
      • Execution is replaced to Implement
      • Links is replaced to Connection

     WG6 WBS

    Work Group 6 - It was consensus vote that agreed that one more pass at the draft will be required after the document goes to Editor for Formatting with a meeting expected in 1st Quarter to 2018 to finalize line by line review.
