Carlos Saldarriaga is a mechanical engineer with over 13 years of experience in industry, consulting and claim management for multiple sectors. His professional development includes participation in mega projects in Peru, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Europe. Throughout his career, Carlos has provided services in capital projects to leading clients in many sectors such as mining, oil and gas, energy, industrial plants and construction at local and international levels.
Carlos is recently participating in projects in Europe in an expert consultant role on excelling in the independent analysis of claims, forensic schedule analysis, quantification of delays and development of technical expert reports focused on delay analysis for projects such as Data Center Construction ($300m - The Netherlands), Photovoltaic Park ($8.1m - Spain), and Supply and Fabrication WTG Foundations (Spain).
He held many roles in South America (Peru): project management audits for the Toromocho Expansion project ($1.8bn), PMO maturity diagnostics for the Jorge Chavez Airport Expansion project ($1.5bn), planning and control for major mining projects (+$1.3bn) and led Deloitte Peru's Capital Projects practice.
Carlos holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons), an MBA, a postgraduate degree Specialization in Project Management, and Specialization in Forensic Schedule Analysis. He is certified in Project Management from PMI (PMP, PMO-CP and PMI-SP), Scrum Academy (SMC, SDC and SFC) and Kanban University (TKP).
His experience includes working with multidisciplinary areas, teams from different latitudes, changing environments and having an active role in non-profit (volunteer) activities. He was part of the Academic Committee of AACE Peru Section, Mentor role for IIMP (Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru) and PMI Lima Chapter, and a member of the PMI Galicia Chapter in a role of content and article developer.
