About AACE Trinidad and Tobago

Who We Are

The AACE Trinidad and Tobago Section is the local affiliate of AACE International the leading professional association for practitioners of Total Cost Management best practices throughout the life cycle of energy, petrochemicals, public sector, commercial sector projects, and programs worldwide.

The Section was established on February 2, 2024, and the current highlights are one Certified Cost Technician, one Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP), three Certified Cost Professionals (CCPs), and one Emeritus CCP, who are located in an island nation with a population of approximately 1.3 million.

Our Section members have sustained an active presence in Trinidad and Tobago since February 22, 1997. The presence was facilitated by the issue of a charter to a team of professionals engaged with local and international oil and gas exploration, refining, and process corporations, EPC contractors, and sub-contractors. The team was responsible for establishing the former AACE Caribbean Section.

What We Do

AACE Trinidad and Tobago Section members use the TCM Framework as a Body of Knowledge to provide integrated scope time and cost services to manage projects, programs and portfolios.

Our Section members also deliver the following specialized services: Cost estimating, lifecycle costing using the International Cost Management Measurement Standard (ICMS), cost analysis, credit analysis, project planning and scheduling, project control, contract administration, cost management, change and claims management, dispute and risk avoidance, delay analysis, and project management.

Why We Do It

The mission, vision, and core values of AACE are the primary drivers of the Section members' emphasis on the use of Recommended Practices and Professional Guidance Documents to benchmark and complete projects and programs on time, within cost and meet investment and operational requirements.

Members of the Section are expected to remain committed to AACEI Governing Documents

How We Do It

Members of AACEI selectively access over 120 Recommended Practices and 23 Professional Guidance Documents which detail when, why and how, the TCM is applied. Live and On-Demand Webinars, and Conference share and demonstrate how RP’s are aligned to the TCM to achieve success on baselined, troubled and recovered projects and programs.

AACE Section members also access specialist training and accredited AACE competency certification examinations.  Mandatory continuous education units are required for recertification every three years.

Volunteering and mentoring provide networking, leadership, upskilling and reskilling opportunities for members, invitees and interested parties.

The membership of AACE includes regular individuals, corporations, public establishments, military, and student categories.
