Award Spotlight: Husain Al-Omani Named AACE Fellow (FAACE)
Recognizing a career of leadership, service, and lasting contributions to the profession.
AACE International is proud to recognize Husain Ali Al-Omani, CCP CEP EVP DRMP PSP FAACE, as a recipient of the prestigious AACE Fellow (FAACE) designation.
The membership grade of Fellow is one of AACE’s highest honors, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and made significant, lasting contributions to the fields of cost engineering and cost management. Reserved for a select group of members, the FAACE designation reflects technical excellence, leadership, and dedicated service to both the profession and the Association.
For Husain, this recognition represents years of commitment to advancing project controls, supporting fellow professionals, and strengthening the global AACE community.
“Being recognized as an AACE Fellow is a profound honor and one of the highest acknowledgments of professional achievement within the Association,” said Husain. “To me, it represents far more than personal recognition—it reflects years of dedication to advancing the profession, serving colleagues, mentoring the next generation of professionals, and contributing to the growth of the AACE community.”
Since joining AACE in 2011, Husain has built an impressive record of professional achievement and volunteer leadership. He has earned five AACE certifications—Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), Earned Value Professional (EVP), and Decision and Risk Management Professional (DRMP)—demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence.
His service to AACE spans more than a decade and includes leadership roles within the Arabian Gulf Section, where he served as an officer and president. He also served as Region 7 Director (2016–2018) and completed two terms as an at-large Director on the AACE International Board of Directors (2021–2025). In addition, Husain has contributed as a member of the Marketing Board and supported numerous initiatives that have strengthened AACE’s global reach.
Among his most impactful accomplishments was working closely with two Saudi Arabian government entities to secure official recognition of the CCP, CEP, and PSP certifications through the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF). As a result, Saudi citizens pursuing these credentials are now eligible to receive reimbursement for their examination and training expenses—an achievement that expands access to professional certification and supports workforce development across the region.
Today, Husain serves as General Manager – Saudi Arabia for CECO Environmental and as a board member at Nomitech, continuing to champion excellence in project controls and cost engineering. In 2021, he was also honored with AACE’s Keane Award for Distinguished Service to an AACE Section.
Reflecting on the Fellow designation, Husain sees it as both a recognition of past contributions and a call to continued service.
“The Fellow designation symbolizes a commitment to excellence, integrity, and lifelong learning,” stated Husain. “It recognizes not only technical expertise but also leadership, collaboration, and a sustained commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting others in their professional development.”
He added that the recognition carries special personal significance.
“Receiving this honor inspires me to continue giving back through mentoring, volunteer service, thought leadership, and promoting best practices. Most importantly, while the AACE Fellow award is an incredible achievement, what makes it truly priceless is that the Fellow award letter is signed by six former presidents of AACE International. That places me in a position where I consider myself an international goodwill ambassador for AACE International around the world.”
For Husain, AACE membership has been instrumental in both his professional growth and his ability to contribute to the industry.
“Being a member of AACE means being part of a global community of professionals dedicated to advancing the practice of cost engineering, project controls, and related disciplines. Membership has provided me with opportunities to learn from industry experts, stay current with evolving best practices, and continually strengthen my technical and professional skills.
“Most importantly, AACE membership connects me with professionals who share a common commitment to delivering successful projects and advancing the value of cost engineering worldwide. I am proud to be part of an organization that fosters innovation, professional excellence, and service to the industry.”
Congratulations to Husain Al-Omani on earning the distinguished FAACE designation. His unwavering commitment to professional excellence, volunteer leadership, and the advancement of cost engineering continues to make a lasting impact on AACE and the profession around the world.
