My name is Gino Napuri, and I am the Chair of the Asset Planning & Management Technical Subcommittee. We combined the Asset Management and Business & Program Planning communities to create the Asset Planning & Management community. This is your space to ask questions, share resources, and learn from your peers.

The scope of the Asset Planning and Management Subcommittee encompasses strategic asset management, including identifying asset requirements through asset performance assessment. The Subcommittee will support the development of procedures and processes related to business planning related to asset development and management – from planning, acquisition, development, and operations, including asset modification, demolition, and disposal.

    Let's get the conversation started.

What projects are you working on? Are there any tools or resources you've found valuable recently?

    Hi Gino,
Thank you for kicking things off with the newly formed  Asset Planning & Management Technical Subcommittee.
My name is Carsten-Floirian Bruns and honored serving as Vice-Chair of this committee.

I think with the resurgence of capital projects and a lot of Data Centers planned, delivered and in service, we have a important time ahead of us bringing effective Asset Management to a new level.
In my line of work, I am concentrating on all aspects of Risk Management, be it Project RM or ERM.

I am looking forward to a very fruitful discussion in this space.

    Good Morning Gentlemen,

I am currently the Long-Term Surveillance and Maintenance (LTS&M) Estimating Manager for a company called LMSP which supports DOE Legacy Management and their mission.  I am currently responsible for developing and maintaining Asset Replacement Plant Value (RPV) cost estimates and Repair Need (RN) and/or Deferred Maintenance DM) costs for 100's of assets spread throughout the roughly 120 sites currently being managed by DOE Legacy Management.  The major projects we are focused on at the moment are Disposal Cell RPV estimates.  We are now having to develop bottoms up estimates for Disposal Cells that range in value from $40mm to $400mm.  I apologize if I misunderstood what this discussion is supposed to be about, but I wanted to explain a little of my involvement with Asset Management and I am looking forward to taking part in conversations that may arise and hopefully learn some valuable tools that will help streamline our current processes and procedures.

    Hi Joshua,

Your input on Asset Management topics will be valuable for this group going forward and maybe you could offer up writing a paper on your unique asset planning and management process and requirements and present at a future Annual Meeting.  Let us know what you are thinking.
