About this session’s topic

Clean energy technology investment will reach nearly $800 billion in 2024 and $1 trillion by 2030. Solar should account for some 55% of total investment.

In US, installations are expected to have hit a record high in 2024, with 32GW/year, and should end the decade with an installation rate of 37 GW/year. Texas continues to lead in utility-scale solar installations, while Florida and California battle for second; the rest of the US is proportionally installing more and more.

An oversupply of equipment from China, aggravated by the potential of new proposed tariffs by the incoming U.S. presidential administration and its associated costs, the pressure is exacerbated on the sector’s profitability and liquidity.

For those reasons, concern with the project execution has arisen further, from development stages, and mainly through contracting and construction phases. Establishing the proper governance and management tools are paramount to the feasibility of these projects, in order to achieve their targets regarding cost, schedule and operational requirements.
