You're probably aware of the ongoing debate between contractors and owners regarding which progress measurement method to use for linear infrastructure projects like roads, highways, bridges, utilities, and others. I am presenting at the AACE Conference & Expo and will be discussing the different methods and the results obtained by implementing these different performance measurements for earned value in the linear infrastructure construction industry.

I have used a case study of a linear construction project to evaluate the performance using different earned value measurement methods. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of the limitations and advantages of each method. Based on the in-depth analysis, I have ranked the different methods based on the criteria of how easy it is to implement, cost, skills required, and reliability of results to apply corrective actions and my final takeaway points. Attendees will be able to see how and when the results obtained by implementing different methods converge to get the project health snapshot.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic, so let's start the discussion - What's your experience with different earned value measurement methods in the linear infrastructure construction industry?

If you’re attending the conference, I invite you to join me on Monday, June 12 from 10:15-11:15 AM for the session: Comparing Different Methods of Performance Measurement for Earned Value for Linear Infrastructure Industry with Recommendation.
