About the AACE Transit Forum

The AACE Transit Forum is a thought leadership community dedicated to AACE members who are active in the transit sector. It will serve as a think tank and a gathering place for cost engineering and project controls professionals within the transit sector, to work together to address common challenges, share experiences, solutions, resources, and lessons learned, and gain additional insights from experts in the field.

About Amtrak

We are not just a railroad; we are a company that moves people. With 21,000 route miles in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and three Canadian provinces, Amtrak operates more than 300 trains each day – at speeds up to 150 mph – to more than 500 destinations. We move customers where they want to go by responding to their wants and needs. And by doing so, we connect communities, economies, and families that make our nation great.

About this session’s topic

AACE members know the value that project controls can bring to an organization. We’ve built our careers on bringing that value. Unfortunately, business continuously pressures project systems to “do more with less.” This mindset introduces the possibility of merging project controls with project management (and sacrificing project controls independence to gain efficiency). In this AACE Transit Forum, we invite participants to discuss the utility of owner project controls, the value of project controls, and key enablers to maximize the value of project controls.
