Aldo Mattos


Bio

Aldo Mattos is an engineering project manager/director and consultant with 30 years of experience in infrastructure projects. Based in Brazil, his is a recognized expert in construction cost estimating, planning and management. He is also a lawyer and holds a Masters degree in Geophysics.


His international experience spans multiple industries, including energy, transportation, sanitation and public housing in 14 countries, adding up to US$1.5B in contract value. His experience also includes the role of Owner’s Representative at an airport expansion project.


As a consultant, he has assisted public entities and private companies in quantity surveying, cost control, estimating, planning scheduling, feasibility studies and disputes resolutions with high satisfaction of his Clients. He is very skilled in training and motivating teams.


In his many projects, Aldo Mattos has been exposed to negotiations with international funding agencies (IDB, World Bank, European funds) and different types of contract (Fidic etc.).


Aldo is founder and former president of AACE Brazil Section. Author of 5 books on cost estimating and construction planning, Aldo is an active lecturer on a wide range of construction-related topics. He often presents papers at international events and writes articles for technical publications.
