I’m a project management professional with more than 20 years’ experience and certified as both a Project Management Professional [PMP] with PMI, and a Certified Cost Professional [CCP] with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (previously known as the American Association of Cost Engineers). I launched my professional career, armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria, and also obtained a Business Management degree specialising in financial management.
My career as engineer and project management professional spans many industries, from mining- & plant infrastructure to manufacturing- and petro-chemical facilities, taking the form of multiple medium-sized projects to projects in excess of R20billion. I am passionate about project management and the creative application of solid management principles to achieve strategic objectives, and have developed thought-provokingly unique, yet proven mechanisms and techniques over the years, thereby raising the standard in handling and diffusing the complexities that exist within mega-projects. I have the ability to solve tactical and operational problems by following a systems thinking approach while engaging relevant stakeholders, and prefer a multi-disciplinary collaboration to generate, communicate and implement the most effective solution.
Although I have significant experience in business management in general and project management in particular, my experience, interests and qualifications provide a vast array of capabilities that is of great strategic benefit. I have a knack for developing creative, yet efficiency-driven solutions that could become the next global trend.
I am a safety conscious person and value respect, integrity and teamwork while striving towards excellence in everything I do. I am a fast learner and have the ability to hit the ground running while maintaining a positive, results-orientated attitude.
