  • 1.  Recommended practice for aligning SPI for In progress activities post Re-Baseline

    Posted 8 days ago

    Hi All,

At the time of re-baselining a project in Primavera, what is the best practice for maintaining an SPI of 1.

The concern is for in progress activities where Performance % complete is not equal to the Schedule % complete .

Is splitting of the activity recommended or is there any other option.

    Thank you

Arun - A prudent option is to start with a solid baseline, not based on early start activities, ideally based on levelled starts, and to routinely obtain a SPI >1.0, one can schedule the work as all "late start"; but, if the SPI goes < 1.0, the schedule could be a train wreck (late).  Is your schedule resource loaded?

    Hi Anthony,

Thank you for the response. Apologize for the lack of clarity in the earlier question. The concern is for resource & cost loaded schedule.

PFA document explaining the concern & the workaround. Seeking confirmation on whether this is the recommended practice.

    Thank you
