Revolutionizing Project Planning and Control: The Impact of AI Disruption

When:  May 9, 2024 from 05:45 PM to 07:00 PM (ET)

Presenter (in Person): Dr. Kwame Amoah

The presentation explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in project planning and control, aiming to show the potential AI disruption in this field and its implications. AI is not new; it has existed for about 70 years. Due to the recent rapid growth of technology in various fields, the development of AI has been accelerating. This acceleration creates a unique opportunity to understand how the latest AI disruption could revolutionize project controls and the wider construction industry. The writer will also draw from his experience in the construction industry to accurately illustrate the implications. Initially, the presentation provides a general overview of the current and past state of project controls and project planning disciplines and the problems and limitations faced in these disciplines. This will help to understand how AI could provide solutions and far superior methods of implementation of project plans.
